 CINEMA

Four remarkable documentary productions Quebec-Louisiana,

proposed by  Louisiane à la Carte" :

-"Generation Louie Michot "

The future of Louisiana French Cajun music and culture is in good hands with young luminaries like Louie Michot.  French Louisiana may never return to its former days of glory, but Lafayette musician, Louie Michot, doesn’t miss a beat as he makes it irresistibly “cool” to be French. Meeting and jam-session between the leader of the Lost Bayou Ramblers and Zachary Richard.

-"Horace Trahan"

Young Cajun musician, converted to the Zydeco, interviewed by the Acadian singer Marie-Jo Thériot.

"Carol Fran : Bury My Heart with the Blues"

Portrait of a touching old lady, French Blues singer living in Lafayette.

When the Acadian exiles met black Creole society of colonial Louisiana, what came about was an awareness of their resemblances that would eventually form the roux of America’s most complex cultural gumbo. Carol Fran sings the blues – blues steeped in a cross-cultural borrowing of tried and true remedies good for treating the generational ailments of bondage and ethnic cleansing.

-"Jimmie Meaux"

Before the Conquest of the West, the first American cowboys were Cajuns. Some of them are still existing today, like the amazing Jimmie Meaux.

Each film 27 ', subtitled in French or English when necessary.Total Time projection 2 hours.
